Amazon’s Echo Show 5, the 5.5″ smart display with built-in Alexa is now on sale for 50%. Like it’s predecessor, the Show 5 is a fully functional echo device that gives you full access to Alexa features with a few additional features.  

One of the biggest improvements to the Show 5 is it’s desktop clock feature. As the screen typically remains on,  you now have a customizable clock as your primary display when sitting idle. This improvement gives you great visibility to the clock at all times while also functioning as a sophisticated alarm clock. From there, another big improvement is with smart home controls. On any non-show, Echo device smart home commands are made solely through voice detection. With the Show 5 and it’s compact but useful screen, you now have access to those controls via touch.   

 Perhaps one of the biggest features you gain with the Show 5 is the ability to perform video calls.  With the Drop-In feature, you now have the option to video call both other Echo Show devices as well as smart phone devices. This feature works with people both in and outside your own Amazon network.
